Manchester, NH – New England dominant self-storage developer, True Storage was named 67th top self-storage owner in the country by Inside Self Storage in their 2024 Top Facility Owners report. The company jumped 20 spots from the 87th spot they were awarded with in 2023.

Over the past year the developer has completed projects in Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, Georgia, Kentucky, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Michigan and Wisconsin. With 2023 being a record development year for True storage their portfolio grew 54% on a square footage basis, which ranked them the 2nd highest portfolio growth in the country. Storage Rentals of America had the highest growth rate at 55.1%.

True Storage Completes 10th development of 2024 with Kmart Revitalization

Hooksett, NH – New England dominant self-storage developer, True Storage completed its 10th completion of the year this past week with the opening of its newest CubeSmart conversion. The project is a conversion of a former Kmart that had been vacant for over a decade. The property is located at 1267 Hooksett Rd in Hooksett New Hampshire and is the anchor box in the L shaped shopping plaza, which True storage also owns and is making improvements to.

This Class A self-storage conversion features True Storage’s expertise in transforming underutilized properties into state-of-the-art storage facilities that serve a public need. Day-to-day operations will be managed by CubeSmart, while True Storage retains ownership of the property.

The property was purchased by the self-storage developer in 2022 with the vision of a self-storage conversion in the vacant Kmart Box. Hooksett Rd is a very well-traveled Corridor close to the developer’s main office which made the project even more exciting. The building features 95,000 sf of climate-controlled Cass A self-storage space with a variety of exterior drive-up units as well.

The 200,000sf Mill building is one of the largest conversions the developer has done to date. True Storage Opens 3rd Portfolio Property in Michigan with Burton, MI ExtraSpace Completion

Burton, MI – New Hampshire based self-storage developer, True Storage opened its third property in Michigan last week. Located at 5350 Davison Rd in Burton, MI the developer transformed the former antiques mall and Harley Davidson dealership into a state-of-the-art Class-A climate controlled self-storage facility. Day-to-day operations will be managed by Extra Space Storage, while True Storage retains ownership of the property.

True storage acquired the property in 2023 and quickly began construction after receiving approvals from the town of Burton. Known for converting retail and commercial spaces into self-storage the developer has also completed projects in Flint, MI and Monroe, MI. The company also currently owns and is under construction on properties in Canton, MI and Ann Arbor, MI.
