True Storage Opens 55,600 Leasable SF Self Storage Facility in New Bedford, MA

Manchester, NH – In October, True Storage opened its sixth Class A self-storage facility in New Bedford, MA. Located at 969 Shawmut Avenue, this is the first facility under the True Storage umbrella that will be managed by Extra Space Storage.

This newly renovated facility was once the home of Parallel Products, an 89,000 SF recycling distribution center that closed in 2020. True Storage obtained the property in early 2021, and converted the rundown, single story center into a state-of-the-art self-storage facility with 627 climate-controlled units, as well as a handful of drive-up access units.

Extra Space Storage customers will not only find that this location has convenient freeway access, but also flexible gate hours, 24-hour interior and exterior video surveillance, security access to the unit, a variety of unit sizes, covered loading bay, and high-end finishes throughout the facility.
